Hosting and technical logs
When you visit, your IP address, request time, requested address and technical browser information are processed to deliver the site, prevent abuse and investigate errors. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in secure and reliable operation. Technical access and error logs are kept only as long as these purposes or a specific security incident require.
Necessary cookies and browser drafts
We use no analytics or marketing services and do not automatically load external maps, videos or fonts. A necessary PHPSESSID session cookie protects enquiry requests and administrator sign-in. It has no fixed expiry; browsers may resume sessions when restoring them.
While you complete the form, its entries are saved temporarily in this browser tab’s sessionStorage so you can return within the form or reload it. After 30 minutes without input the stored draft is no longer restored. A successful submission or “Clear entries” removes it. Entries already visible may remain in the form until you clear or close the page. Restoring a tab may also restore browser session storage.
This storage supports the enquiry or sign-in you requested under section 25(2)(2) TDDDG. Personal-data processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for enquiries and Article 6(1)(f) for security. Acknowledging the privacy notice does not consent to tracking or advertising.
Enquiries, database and email
We process travel, contact and address details and optional messages to answer your enquiry and prepare a possible rental agreement. Enquiries are stored in an access-controlled database and emailed to the hosts or family members handling them. The database may contain an enquiry even if email delivery fails.
Required fields support handling and contract preparation. You can alternatively contact us by email or telephone. Avoid unnecessary confidential information in the message. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, or Article 6(1)(c) for legal obligations.
Recipients and service providers
Recipients are those handling the rental and enquiry and the necessary hosting, database and email providers. Other disclosure takes place only as required for the contract or by law. Opening an external link connects you to the chosen provider, whose privacy information then applies.
Retention and deletion
Unsuccessful enquiries are reviewed and deleted after handling ends and any necessary retention or evidentiary grounds lapse. Deletion follows an explicit review, not an automatic age-based schedule. Open matters, contract-related records and records subject to a retention hold are protected from the unsuccessful-enquiry deletion tool.
Contract records are retained as needed for performance and applicable statutory periods. Email copies, logs and backups are included in the retention review; deleting a database enquiry does not automatically delete those copies. Backups remain only for the required backup cycle or a justified legal hold.
Your rights
Subject to legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability. You may object to legitimate-interest processing on grounds relating to your situation. We make no automated decisions or profiles. Contact info@salzinsel-binz.de. You may complain to a supervisory authority, including the data protection authority of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
